“Part of the problem with the word 'disabilities' is that it immediately suggests an inability to see or hear or walk or do other things that many of us take for granted. But what of people who can't feel? Or talk about their feelings? Or manage their feelings in constructive ways? What of people who aren't able to form close and strong relationships? And people who cannot find fulfilment in their lives, or those who have lost hope, who live in disappointment and bitterness and find in life no joy, no love? These, it seems to me, are the real disabilities.”
Fred Rogers
I feel, we gardeners are so fortunate to be gardening, to be growing vegetables ?
We feel more than ever... Our green journeys are nothing short of sensory carnivals ! We form bonds and so many beautiful relationships with our plants... If on one hand we experience, anxiety and nervousness, on the other hand we experience joy, peace, tranquillity and fulfilment in myriad ways, that the negatives just pale in comparison... We express our feelings through our harvests, our joyful sharing, our posts here... We are fulled with hope and abounding love at every step, leaving very little place for bitterness and disappointment...
Aren't we gardeners so fortunate, that even though we face limitations and adversity comes a knocking, even though we experience our share of disabilities... our relationship with the earth and our little effort at keeping our little corners of the world green, helps us overcome all of these and teaches us to seek opportunities in challenges...
Here's to the indomitable spirit of gardeners...!
