Stuffed mushroms and brinjals...

Look at where else the chilli-tomato chutney got used. :)
This afternoon's lunch !
Stuffed mushrooms and brinjals...
The stuffing was chicken mince (Vegetarians could add boiled potato, brinjal pulp and mixed vegetables with seasonings/masala of your choice), capsicum, tomatoes and mushrooms with some of the baked brinjal pulp that I scooped out after the first (Only brinjal) bake. I added yesterday's chilli-tomato chutney for more flavour and some grated cheese on top.

And here's the red chilli chutney and chilli oil that I made last night with the red chillies I harvested from my patch...

Red hot chillies !!

Cleared up a couple of old chilli plants the other day and look at what I got !!

Layered salad in a bottle

A very simple sprouts-capsicum-cucumber-cabbage salad, with a lemon-mustard-fresh red chilli dressing for this afternoon's lunch. Simple, yet packed with flavours and bursting with freshness...

I shared my guacamole with myself...

"If you have nothing but love for your avocados, and you take joy in turning them into guacamole, all you need is someone to share it with."

And I shared it with myself...

This bunch of boys sure did make my day !

This bunch of curious and enthusiastic boys sure made my Sunday special !

They live in the neighbourhood and are huge fans of Disco. Every time the pass in front of our house, they have to stop and talk to Disco. Yesterday, they said they wanted to stem in and see my vegetable garden. I was delighted and immediately said an excited "Barri pa/Come on!" And this morning, the whole bunch landed up !

They wanted me to quiz them first, to see how many vegetables they could recognize. Well, with a few simple clues here and there, they were able to guess more than sixty percent, except for stuff like broccoli, parsley and Italian Basil. But then, they weren't completely wrong. For they said Kotambri/coriander for Parsley and ond tulasi jaati/A variety of tulasi for Italian basil. Smart boys !! :)

They were pretty impressed with my simple composting method in the earthen pots. One of the boys told me, they have a lot of trees and they compost the leaves in a pit in their backyard. A couple of the boys told me, they do grow a few vegetables like chillies and mint at home. But now, after seeing my patch, they would like to grow more varieties of vegetables, so their mothers could save some money. I found that very sweet !

 What do I say...? :)

Admiring the capsicum plant that's flowering.

 Stopping to smell the herbs.
Fascinated by Rosemary, here.

Taking in the fragrance of lavanga tulasi/clove basil.

Taken up by my very simple composting method.

Discovering the difference between a cabbage and a cauliflower plant.

Wanting to know more about how turmeric grows.

One last picture before leaving... :)
