Yippeeee ! The lettuce has finally germinated !!

These lettuce seeds were a part of the gift hamper of seeds that Vani Murthy and team had gifted me in July, when they visited Dharwad. I managed to sow them somewhere in mid October. I chose to forget about them, because I have always had a problem with lettuce seeds germinating. They either don't germinate at all or take their own sweet time. Well, just when I was going to sow something else in these two pots, I spied some teeny-weeny seedlings pop their heads out of the soil. I waited, and today it's confirmed, they are lettuce seedlings. Yipeeee, I am going to have lettuce in my patch after a long time !

I just hope they grow well, survive the transplanting if needed and grow well to maturity. Fingers crossed for me people...

Checking on the progress with Bhuvan on a Sunday morning...

This morning, I had a delightful time in my patch with Bhuvan and Disco. The live mulch (Mustard) is growing well and some of the greens too have germinated. And the patch is already looking quite green and beautiful... Some of the capsicum and brinjal seedlings wilted (I wonder why. Maybe transplanting shock) I have already sowed more bhendikayi/okra and bush beans in their place. Hope to add more brinjal seedlings later.

Bhuvan adds a whacky joy to our bouts in my patch and today, he was on a sniffing spree, a la Disco. He had to smell every plant and go, wooowwww...!! And as a bonus to the fun, we harvested some fresh green mustard micro-greens for both of us and some chillies and bush beans.

I need to add this good news. (Good, at least now !)
Since I blocked every access hole I could spy, no bandicoot has been able to sneak inside in the past three days. TOUCH WOOD !!! But, today I did spy attempts. There's a lot of soil being scratched out near the back mesh. They are trying their best !!
