Capturing the one who was capturing the spirit of my patch !

14 May, 2016

It was interesting to capture Rahul, who was capturing my patch and me working in my patch, for his project.

Rahul Karanpuria, is a Khoji from Swaraj University, staying with us for a week to find out about the work I do with the trees of Dharwad and kids and about my green journey with organic vegetable gardening. Rahul is on a journey with 52 Parindey, a project dedicated to identifying and documenting the lives of 52 innovators who are making a conscious living for themselves and their planet through alternate careers in Indian towns. Under this project, Rahul is travelling across the country to cover 52 locations and spend a week at each of these locations. During these stays, Rahul lives with the identified innovator, understands her/his way of life and documents it through videos, photographs, and text.

That apart, I harvest a couple of white badnikayis/brinjals, some yard-long beans, a few bush beans, red tomatoes and chillies and a large bunch of harivi soppu/ amaranthus and hunchikk soppu/ambat chukka/chukka koora. And also sowed a new bacth of corn. Rahul was more than glad to put down his camera for a while and pose with today's gift from my patch.

It was fun to have Disco visiting us every five minutes to survey our work. In a while Bhuvan joined us and sowed some palak. And after that we had majja showing off our Mahogany seed pod stash to Rahul.

 And there comes Disco !!

 Wants some attention...

Watching with interest as I worked and Rahul went about shooting...

And this morning's sprightly little harvest of a couple of white badnikayis/brinjals, some yard-long beans, a few bush beans, red tomatoes and chillies and a large bunch of harivi soppu/ amaranthus and hunchikk soppu/ambat chukka/chukka koora.

Rahul was more than glad to put down his camera for a while and pose with today's gift from my patch.

Disco was drooling away... He loves to chew on the tender yard-long beans...

Looking at Ma for permission...

Friends...

There...

And Disco wouldn't leave Rahul's side...

And then, he fell asleep as I worked alongside...

Inspecting our stash, ever so lovingly...

Never get tired of looking at these elegant pods in awe...

The very interesting seed pod of the Sterculia foetida.

Stretching their imagination with the seed pods...

Hello ! Hello ! Mike testing...

And here we have Bhuvan singing Arijit Singh's popular, "Kabhi jo baadal barse..."

By the way, Bhuvan has a very good voice and he's learning Hindustani sangeeth. Love your rendering of this song Bhuvan. And thanks for singing, every time we ask of you...

And that's Bhuvan sowing palak seeds...
